Boardsmill were back in action on Sunday in Group A of the Intermediate Hurling Championship in a wet and windy Dunderry against Wolfe Tones. The 'Mill played against the wind in the first half and Wolfe Tones were first off the mark with a point in the first minute from play. However Boardsmill were next off the mark when a cross from Cathal Flattery found Eric Cribbin just outside the rectangle to flick the ball to the back of the net for the first of Boardsmill's goals in this game. Wolfe Tones followed up with another point from play and the 'Mill side responded with another superb goal from Thomas Leonard after a pass again from Flattery. Leonard followed up his goal with a well taken point. Wolfe Tones tacked on a couple of points from frees and when a ball landed in the Boardsmill square after a scramble the ball was kicked into the net.  Flattery finished the scoring in the first half with another goal as the sides went into the break 3-03 to 1-05.

In the second half both sides took a while to get into scoring action, and the first score of the half came from a free taken by Jim Bird for Boardsmill in which he followed up with another point shortly after also from a free. Flattery got on the scoreboard again with the first goal of the second half when he received the ball on the edge of the box and hammered home. In the 18th minute Wolfe Tones got their first point in the second half and followed up with another in quick succession. Boardsmill went on the attack again and the ball ended out over the side line for a line ball to the 'Mill. Leonard stepped up to take it and had the foresight to see Ray Hatton free on the half way line, he passed it out to Hatton who slotted over the point leaving the sides 4-06 to 1-07. Wolfe Tones pucked the ball out only for it to land to David Farrell, who gave a flawless performance in the back line, and sent a long ball into the box where a waiting Flattery slotted home his third goal of the game. After the puck out, Niall Weir received the ball and sent a high ball towards the Wolfe Tones goals only for it to drop short and land to the goalie, with the strong wind the goalie couldn't control the ball and it landed in the back of the net for the 'Mill's 6th goal of the game. Thomas Reilly finished Boardsmill's scoring with a well taken point from play. Wolfe Tones continued fighting and got the last score in the game however it was too little too late.
