Boardsmill GAA Club History

While Boardsmill GAA Club was officially formed in 1944, it has been established that Boardsmill played in the 1913 hurling championship.  The documentation of the history of the club was started by the later Peadar Lehane and has been continued by TJ Reilly and Patricia Cully.  The end publication will not only include a comprehensive history of the juvenile and adult history of the GAA Club, but will also be peppered with some interesting nuggets of history regarding the general parish, Ladies GAA & Camogie, local school and more.

A newly formed committee has been established to finish this work and to collate a central bank of videos and photographs. We are looking for any small help that you may have to offer in order to finish the project.

You can help by:

-          Lending videos/photos or information.  Anything given will be returned.

-          Identifying photos

-          Offering your time to help writing/editing/creating an index of the history.

All help would be gratefully received.  It would be appreciation if you could prompt any older relatives, emigrants or friends who may not see this notice.

Please do what you can to help finish what the late great Peadar Lehane started and leave a legacy for future generations.
